***

you know, people here on earth keep talking of a man and a girl who went to heaven in those days. r.i.p. and I say to myself: so what? death is part of life. they were young? and? as if you weren't young too. what need is there of all this fuss?.

it makes me a strange effect thinking that the silence of these two days was in some way an omen. and it's strange that I've been told today that the day before yesterday you went to heaven too.

I was hoping you'd been here still a bit , I so wanted to see you again. you remained in my heart, somehow, since that night at dinner, a year ago.

but I know you're better where you are now. and that you will protect you-know-who.
I'll remember you with a smile.

bei pensieri a caso - beautiful random thoughts

***

I received an email from customer service ikea. it say I should bring back the tent busa because it is dangerous. the webpage also says that there were 3 cases of rupture of the fabric and of release of the metal frame and that in one of the three cases, a child suffered minor injuries.
I have spoken with the father of my son. we both agree that there is no mortal danger involved and that anyone can be injured using or playing with a lot of things. the decision is made: the tent remains. I really can't take it away from my son.

yesterday and today my heart has flown a bit. words and images have come from another place and they aroused in me emotions and awakened memories of bygone days. and there is no day that I do not thank the universe for having met some people.

I had a golden opportunity this afternoon. I believe in signs (don't you?) and I had a nice and clear one. I was shown a path. in a week I'm going to start a new journey of love for me.

it is said that today is going to be the last hot day, it 's getting cold. well, this means that I'll convince myself of being in autumn. I wan't that certain about ir until now. and to prepare myself for the fall, I will spend some of my evening knitting and some immersed in a hot and scented bath.

diario di un giorno (stra)ordinario - diary of an (extra)ordinary day

[perché in ogni singolo giorno ordinario c'è sempre qualcosa di stra* because in every single ordinary day there's always something extra]

***

today, after kindergarten, we went to sign up in the pool. a colleague gave me a tip in the office pointing a center not too far from home and relatively cheap where my little boy can take swimming lessons (for now they put him in the 'ducklings') while I do aqua-gym. same time, 2 different pools, one shower for 2: the top convenience at a perfect time. we'll start on monday, then I'll let you know. for now I really like the idea of sharing a moment of sport with him. and I am very glad to move myself too

*VIVIAMO*

qui

yesterday I read a post and I could find myself reflected in the concept of quality time. I have the good fortune I quantitatively can spend quite a lot of time with my little boy, even now that he lives 50% of his life elsewhere with his father, but I started long ago to take the trouble to find throughout the day at least 15 minutes of quality time to give him. which seem few, but you know, this is not the quantity what counts on this matter.

this afternoon when we came back home, my little boy was upset for seeing a buddy playing with a scooter the same as his one. he wanted to play with it as well but his is at his father's house and therefore he couldn't play wiht it here. since he was really sad, we stuck (ok, I did it only with my upper torso) in his tent and we read this book, comparing it to the scooter case. part of my quality time today has been spent to teach him, as the book says, to change thoughts and then - in consequence - state of mind. I succeeded - at least I think so - letting him know that he can be grateful for having a scooter at dad's place even though he can't play with it here, since there are lots of children who do not have a scooter at all and I told him that he could play and have fun with something else and not be sad anymore. he chose an inflatable beach ball and proposed we could throw it to one another in his bedroom. Instead I inflated a blue balloon, which bounces and flies better, and proposed to move to the living room, where we could use a couch each. we moved and there we laughed and played a little ', then I told him - we often do it here -' now I'm gonna put the mouse on (= timer), so we play 7 minutes and then I'll go and make our pap '.

at the end I smiled while looking around and I thought I should really hang this poster next to the main door :

***

when I went to close the shutters in my room tonight, as it often happens, I could not help but notice the moon. I called my little boy, who was playing in his bedroom, saying he could come and see something beautiful. he came running, I picked him up and I pointed to the slice in the sky. 'oooh how beautiful, mom! it's just like the one you see in books! I'd love to be on top of that mountain to be closer to the moon so I could touch it! '

this moment

in questo momento - right now

***

right now I'm

waiting for the end of the first drying cycle of my brand new washing machine (which is also a dryer, actually) and thinking that every cloud (i.d. a washing machine that breaks after 11 years) has a silver lining.

sipping another mug of antibiotics tea and considering that in 2 days thanks to it and to my cough syrup and to the essential oil of tea tree I defeated a fearful attack of influenza.

planning all the tours I have to do tomorrow after work, including the pediatrician, a gift to buy for a little girl who'll have birthday on Saturday and the pool to be subscribed to.

listening to the fatigue and the creaking of my body. this afternoon here there were a blacksmith, the installation of new washer-dryer and of my new refrigerator and a plumber (hot piece of man, by the way) and it seems I have done nothing ecxept cleaning around.

meditating to finish the tea and slip into bed (but I'm too curious to see my dried towels !!!)...

questo finesettimana - this weekend

***
this weekend was a kind of watershed, a break between before and after. the two working days in Austria – which were beautiful, of course. how can it be? I haven't even published a photo yet! -

***

I was catapulted from the rhythm 'beachrobe, breakfast at the bar with granita and brioche and that slow, sinuous pattern typical of the extended time that you live on the islands' inside the vortex 'work work work and speaking German German German'. a full immersion which, added to the fatigue of the trips, saw me arriving exhausted at the end of the week.

poi è arrivato lui, il primo weekend d'autunno.

benvenuto autunno.

***

and suddenly it came, the first autumn weekend.

welcome, autumn.

I spent the Saturday amongst my suitcase yet to be emptied, the cleaning of the house and putting clothes into the washing machine. this at least until the washing machine itself decided to break and to leave me for over an hour crouched on the floor of the laundry to empty it from the little tube of the filter. uhm. in the evening, to console me, I drank a cold beer and I prepared the Aeolian squid salad.

ingredients: squids, salted capers, red onion, cherry tomatoes, potatoes, extra virgin olive oil, mint.
I cooked the squids in boiling water in which I had added a little white wine and a slice of lemon for 7 minutes. I cooked the potatoes in a steam pressure cooker, I desalted the capers in hot water and I prepared the salad by mixing all the ingredients and abounding with fresh mint which I love.

***

after dinner I got knitting needles and balls of wool and I started what on the islands had not wanted to take shape.

my blonde friend and I wanted to visit on Sunday a wellbeing fair.
I got up, I called the blonde to tell her that I would not leave home, since my well being was here, I put my yukata on, I made a mug of coffee (yes, during the trip to Austria I drank my first coffee after what? ... 3 years) with some chocolate digestive cookies and I went to sit in my garden where I've been knitting almost all day.

total relax.

 ***
I got up just to prepare something for dinner, the simplest and poorest dish ever: a soup of bread which is said to have been made in Stromboli.

ingredients: stale bread, water and salt (but I had some chicken broth and I used that), a clove of garlic, extra virgin olive oil, 3 bay leaves, pecorino (or Parmesan) cheese, pepper.
I put the bread to soak in the hot broth while in another pot I was browning sliced garlic with olive oil and the 3 bay leaves. I threw the soaked bread into the other pot and I left seasoning a few minutes; then I poured it into an earthenware bowl, I spIrinkled it with grated cheese, some pepper and some oil and I delighted my palate.

and then I happily went back to my knitting needles.
